Dr. Mehra received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California at Davis. She then completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Portland, OR, followed by a one-year neurology specialty internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. In 2018, she began a three-year neurology/neurosurgery residency and master's program at Purdue University and subsequently became board certified in Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Dr. Mehra's clinical interests include spinal cord injury, inflammatory central nervous system diseases, and neurosurgery. Her residency research involved investigating the association between gastrointestinal complications in dogs with acute intervertebral disc herniations.

Dr. Mehra is excited to be back in California and to join the VCA ACC team! Outside of work, she enjoys baking and spending time with her family and her dog, Dax.
