Following a career as a public school teacher for hearing impaired children in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. McEwen returned to school and attained her DVM from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a 1 year radiology internship which was created for her at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas.

Following a 3 year radiology residency at Auburn University, Dr. McEwen immediately passed boards and became a diplomate of the ACVR.

Dr. McEwen has lectured on many subjects from CT to special diagnostic imaging procedures, and is the owner/founder of Lighthouse Radiology.
