Dr. Katherine Sanui grew up in Sacramento, CA and attended the University of California, Davis for undergraduate and veterinary school. She completed a specialty internship focused on emergency, critical care, and specialty medicine at the Pet Emergency and Specialty Center (PESC) in San Diego. She stayed on as a staff doctor at PESC for four years before joining the emergency and critical care team at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. Dr. Sanui's professional interests include emergency, trauma, critical care, and surgery. During her time away from the hospital, she enjoys outdoor adventures, ethnic foods, and spending time with her family and pets. She has three dogs: Corey (whippet mix), Melvin (terrier mix) and Mac (border collie).
