Dr. Christelle Follette, a Sacramento, CA, native, attended UCLA, where she studied marine biology, graduating in 2010. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, completing her clinical year at UC Davis, and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Follette went on to work six months in small animal general practice in Sacramento prior to completing a small animal rotating internship at The Ohio State University. In pursuit of becoming a veterinary surgeon, she completed surgical internships at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, OH and VCA Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, CA. She stayed on at VCA Animal Specialty Group to complete her three-year surgical residency, serving as chief resident and presenting at two national conferences in her final year. Her professional interests include minimally invasive soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries (including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopy), wounds, and reconstructive surgery. She also has a passion for veterinary research and has authored and co-authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Outside of work, she enjoys taking care of her 50+ plants and loves to dance, including ballet and salsa. She also spends a lot of time with her English Bulldog, Rosie, and husband Luis.
