Dr. Donaldson completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. He then obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University while performing his clinical rotations at The Ohio State University. He then completed a rotating internship at BluePearl in Kansas City, Kansas. From there Dr. Donaldson completed a 4-year Neurology Residency at Dogwood Veterinary Referral Center in Farmington, Michigan. In 2020, he joined the staff of VCA MidWest veterinary Referral & Emergency Center as a Residency Trained Neurologist. He looks forward to taking his board exams once the COVID-19 Pandemic has resolved.
Dr. Donaldson is trained in all aspects of medical and surgical neurology. He is trained in surgical procedures involving intervertebral disc herniation, intracranial surgery, vertebral fracture stabilization and repair, atlanto-axial luxation stabilization, wobbler syndrome, and developmental brain abnormalities. Dr. Donaldson is also trained in the medical management of neurologic disease including seizure management, inflammatory brain disease, developmental brain abnormalities, and head trauma.
Dr. Donaldson and his spouse enjoy being a part of their community and discovering all that it has to offer. They have two fur babies, “Monkey” a dog, and “Evie” a cat.
