Dr. Loren Schmidt (born and raised in Minster, Ohio, a small rural farming community located in Northwest Ohio) graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Agriculture in Animal Science – Bioscience with Honors. She continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Schmidt joined our team at VCA Family & Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center for a rotating internship.

Her professional interests are all things emergency critical care.   

Her pet family back in Ohio are her 3 kitties: O'Malley - a loveable Big Orange Boy (BOB), Olive - her tortie girl full of torititude, and Otto - her one-eyed, long-haired pirate!

Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoors! She's an avid beach goer, loves hiking, is relearning how to surf, and is working on getting SCUBA certified.
