Dr. Amelia Nora received her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences with a Spanish minor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed a medical acupuncture certification from Colorado State University and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Prior to joining our Carlsbad hospital, Dr. Nora worked as an emergency veterinarian at VCA Veterinary Emergency Services and Specialty Center located in Madison, Wisconsin.

Conversational in Spanish, Dr. Nora loves practicing emergency veterinary medicine because it allows her to care for animals with a wide range of medical needs. She is particularly interested in endocrinology, treating pets with medical conditions involving the glands and hormones.

The Midwest transplant is an outdoor fitness enthusiast who enjoys hiking, swimming, snowboarding, skiing and now is adding surfing to her repertoire. She and her husband are pet parents to Smoky, a Pyrenees/Australian Shephard mix, and, Coco, a pit bull terrier.
