Head Trainer Paula Thomas has been with White Oak Animal Hospital since 1999. Before implementing the hospital's training program, she worked as a licensed veterinary technician. As the head trainer at White Oak, Paula establishes training protocols, oversees trainers ensure appropriate techniques are being used, instructs classes and conducts behavioral consultations in hands-on dog training.
Paula has 30+ years of experience working with dogs and horses. She says the best part of training is getting the opportunity to help clients with their dog's individual needs. Paula holds an Associate degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology, and is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She likes working at White Oak Animal Hospital because it's a "supportive, professional and fun place to be."
At home, Paula has four American Pit Bull Terriers, two Malinois, two cats, four horses, four goats, rats and several chickens. She enjoys riding horses, playing with her dogs and spending time with her family.
