Licensed Veterinary Technician Chris Mack joined our team part-time in June of 2020. She is responsible for administering treatments, medications, vaccines, completing diagnostics, caring for hospitalized patients, placing bandages on wounds, phlebotomy, placing IVCs, anesthesia induction, monitoring, surgery, and client education. Chris is so happy to treat our wonderful patients and is truly proud when she is able to win over the more challenging patients. She loves being challenged by the variety of cases that come into the office.
Chris has an Associate degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology and she is licensed in the state of Virginia. She is also the only staff member with one leg! Chris has 25 years of experience working in the veterinary care field and has previously worked as a receptionist, assistant, and as a technician for the past 18 years. Chris worked as a Director for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic in 2015.
At home, Chris is the proud pet parent to her three cats: Cayden "Bug,” Jigsaw (who is also missing a leg!), and Twist. She also has a Cane Corso puppy she foster-failed after animal control brought him to the clinic with a prolapsed rectum. She tends to rescue animals with a range of disabilities because she understands the challenges of living with a disability. During her free time, Chris enjoys DIY home renovations, fishing, going to Redskins football games, and going to car shows with her dad.
