Dr. Laura Flancher was born and raised in Kearney, Nebraska. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2012 from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. There, she played the trombone in the Notre Dame marching band and honed her skills as a hooligan-level Fighting Irish fan. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. While up north, she enjoyed gaining experience with wildlife at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota, educating the public about production animals at the Miracle of Birth Center at the Minnesota State Fair, and working on veterinary teams at sled dog races in northern Minnesota and Upper Michigan.
Dr. Flancher completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in 2017 and worked as a relief veterinarian at several hospitals in the Denver area before settling at Stapleton Veterinary Hospital. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and animal behavior.
Dr. Flancher lives in Denver and enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and travel. She still plays the trombone in a local community band and loves to spend time exploring Colorado's hiking trails. She has two dogs, Daisy and Mr. Tumnus, both of whom are also big Irish fans.
