Dr. Schmied is a native of the Midwest, completing her 5yr undergrad degree in Pre-Med at the University of Toledo. Her family resides in Wisconsin where she graduated in 2001 from the University of Wisconsin - School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison. She started her career at a mixed animal practice in Florida and was able to care for a wide array of exotics, large animals, and some of the more traditional pets. After growing up in Maine, Kate left New England to attend the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver Colorado. Kated earned an associates degree in Animal Science and her National Certification in 1999, and spent her clinical rotation at Alamedia East Animal Hospital (of the famed Emergency Vets on Animal Planet).
