Dr. Valerie Sinclair grew up in Eastern Washington, where her love of animals began early in life. Her childhood was spent caring for a variety of animals, from cats and dogs to sheep, poultry, and rabbits. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Washington State University in 2007 and has practiced in Colorado and Oregon before joining VCA Peone Pines Animal Hospital as medical director in December 2013.
Dr. Sinclair has special interests in dentistry, small animal internal medicine, and exotic animal medicine (both scaled and furry). She is also Fear Free Certified Elite, ensuring that the comfort and well-being of her patients are always prioritized. In 2024, she received a NAVC Institute scholarship to attend additional training for advanced soft tissue surgery, further enhancing her expertise. Additionally, she serves as a mentor for WSU DVM students through the preceptor program and is a VCA DVM mentor, supporting new veterinarians entering the field.
In her free time, Dr. Sinclair enjoys spending time with her husband and son doing anything outdoors, including fishing, hiking, camping, and downhill skiing. They share their home with two dogs, two cats, a flock of chickens, and a tank of tropical fish.
