Dr. Ashenfelter has been Medical Director of VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital since 2000. She has worked in this hospital in some capacity since 1990. Dr. Ashenfelter attended Chaparral High School here in Scottsdale; then the University of Arizona for college, and earned her DVM at Colorado State Veterinary Medical School in 1998. She returned to Arizona to work at the animal hospital where the staff and clients felt like family.
Dr. Ashenfelter has served on the local Arizona Veterinary Medical Association Board and takes pride in running an AAHA accredited veterinary facility. She loves geriatrics, internal medicine, feline medicine and nutrition. Dr. Ashenfelter is married with 2 young girls. She enjoys traveling with her family, spending time outdoors, cooking with friends, and is an avid reader. Her family is rounded out with dogs, cats, a desert tortoise, and a king snake! Dr. Ashenfelter hopes to be an inspiration to her girls and other women in achieving balance between work and family. She is passionate about animal health and recommends the best for her clients and patients.
