Dr. Burke is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended the University of New Mexico and obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University in 1986. Dr. Burke returned to Albuquerque and was in private practice at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital until 2004 when he relocated to Phoenix. Dr. Burke enjoys being a general practitioner, but is especially enthusiastic about ophthalmology, dentistry and radiology. Dr. Burke has two daughters, one son and one grandson all whom live in Albuquerque and give him good reason to visit his hometown regularly. Breeding and showing Longhair Dachshunds has been a major part of Dr. Burke's life since his teenage years. Along with the dogs, he enjoys anything outdoors and has a personal goal of being able to hike Camelback Mountain in under 40 minutes.
