Dr. Costa was born and raised in upstate New York and later moved to Massachusetts for undergraduate studies at Becker College, where she received an Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science. Prior to attending Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked as a veterinary technician for a year.

Dr. Costa has many developing interests within veterinary medicine, there is so much to love! Her top interests include wellness and preventative care, surgery, internal medicine, feline specific practices, and community involvement. She believes that the best practice places an emphasis on the importance of good communication in order to best prioritize patient care and client expectations.

Outside of work, Dr. Costa enjoys a good baking challenge, hiking, camping, and relaxing with friends, family, and her two cats, Marshmallow and Meeko.
