Dr. Bouffard is a graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Here she was also a member of the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society as well as the Society of Phi Zeta. Before attending Veterinary College, Brenda attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Zoology and a Minor in Psychology. While attending the University of Massachusetts, she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi.
Dr. Bouffard grew up on the North Shore and always planned on spending her professional life in Massachusetts. She is a mother of three amazing children and wife of the world's best chef, Leonard. Dr. Bouffard would like to be known as equally a cat and dog person. Birds and pocket pets are also admired and appreciated although allergies limit direct interaction with some.
Dr. Bouffard has a drive to always do her best for the pet and pet owner. Enhancing and extending the lives of her patients is her goal. Dr. Bouffard enjoys educating and working with pet owners in a team work approach to pet care. Veterinary medicine, surgery, and behavior are not "one size fits all". She aims to provide the Gold Standard of care while recognizing the need to be flexible and work within the boundaries of what the pet and pet owner can do. Celebrating and protecting the bond people share with their pets is Dr. Bouffard's passion.
