Veterinary Diagnostic Services Can Give a More Accurate Diagnosis

Because your pet cannot tell us in words where he or she is uncomfortable or what ails him or her, modern diagnostic tests, combined with the physical exam, can help us pinpoint the cause of discomfort, illness, or injury and choose the right course of treatment.

The best diagnostic tool Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic can offer is a thorough physical examination including a complete medical history of your pet. Our veterinarians take the time to get to know your pet and we will ask you questions about his or her lifestyle, habits, and previous illnesses or injuries. Your observations are one of our most valuable resources.

When we need to know more about your pet, we use the latest in diagnostic equipment and tests, all available right here at our clinic.

Computer-Aided Tomography (CT)

Our facility includes on-premises access to computed tomography to examine the internal structure of your pet. CT provides invaluable information in the diagnosis of nasal, chest cavity, and abdominal disease and in planning for surgery.

Endoscopy

High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet's gastrointestinal, nasal, reproductive, and respiratory systems. This allows for a more accurate diagnosis and treatment, and also the removal of foreign objects without the need for surgery.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy equipment is used to perform minimally invasive surgery for organ biopsy, exploration of joints, and neutering procedures without the need for major surgery.

On-site Laboratory

Our on-site laboratory allows us to test blood, urine, and fecal samples in a timely manner. This helps us make a rapid diagnosis and allows us to begin treatment for your pet as quickly as possible.

Radiology

Radiographs - or X-rays - help our veterinarians evaluate musculo-skeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. We have high-tech digital equipment at Loomis Basin. All radiographs we take are reviewed and interpreted by a board-certified radiologist at no additional charge to you.

Ultrasound

This noninvasive, advanced technology uses sound waves to examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available using this diagnostic technique.
