We at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital want our clients and staff members to know it is our priority to provide the finest veterinary care to our patients and it is our goal to assure that their owners are well informed and comfortable with the decisions made regarding their pets care.
Since 1950, we have been an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital. That means that we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Pets are our passion, keeping them healthy is our #1 priority. Your pet deserves nothing less.
The Hollywood Animal Hospital was originally built in 1947 by Dr. C.E. Dee and Dr. I.C. Frederickson on what was then the western edge of the City of Hollywood. The announcement of their practice at 2864 Hollywood Boulevard was sent to the community on November 1, 1947. The phone numbers at that time were Hollywood #1253, Ft. Lauderdale #862 and Miami # 7-7727.
In 1978, VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital completed the construction of our current medical facility and in 1996, opened the Outpatient Clinic, which is also referred to as the Annex, located next to the hospital.
Since its inception, the HAH (as it is commonly referred to) has grown to include a staff of 22 doctors and more than 100 technical and support staff. These individuals have been selected, not only for their compassion and communication skills, but also for their appreciation of the special roles that pets play in our lives. In addition, a lifelong commitment to continuing education is an integral part of the philosophy of our medical staff.
Determined to provide the finest veterinary care, in 1950 we became a Certified Member Hospital of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This voluntary veterinary organization sets high standards which member hospitals are required to maintain and continually upgrade. There are only 3,200 veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada which have been awarded accreditation as an AAHA Member Hospital.

Alma maters are important, especially to Vets. Auburn University holds a special place in the hearts of the VCA Hollywood Staff in that from those hall, we were born. Recently, Auburn University did a piece on the Brother's Dee and the legacy that the Dee family has imparted on our community.
We are grateful for their contribution.

Retired K9 Officer Healthcare Fund
K9 Police Officers serve our city, our county and our state at our borders, on our streets and at our front doors. These canines are trained to act in situations that require stamina, physical agility and quick reaction time. They are fully accredited officers bearing the honor of their office during service and in death.
In retirement, canine officers are no longer financially supported by the department they served. Their handlers, or partners, often voluntarily 'adopt' these animals to live out their retirement in comfort. It is the belief of the Retired K9 Officer Healthcare Fund (RK9OHF) that the cost of healthcare should be supplemented. In accordance with that belief, a partnership was established with the RK9OHF and VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital with the mission to provide the best in wellness care to these officers and to cover a portion of those costs.
Lionbridge provides over-the-phone and video interpretation services for non-English-speaking and American Sign Language (ASL) clients. In real time, veterinary providers can enlist an expert Lionbridge interpreter to facilitate a clear exchange of information between themselves and clients. Lionbridge’s on-demand, remote interpretation services enable effective and accurate communication with clients. This service empowers clients to be heard and spoken to in their own language, which in turn facilitates a deeper understanding of the care your pet needs.
