Karen graduated from Ithaca College of TAFE Veterinary Nursing Course in Brisbane, Australia in 1992. She married and moved to Baltimore in 1997 and has since worked as a technician in a variety of large practices. In 2000, she sat for the national and state veterinary technician examinations, passed and was given a state license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Since 2005, Karen was the practice manager of a large hospital on the western shore, until October of 2015 when she moved to Berlin to be closer to the ocean and start a boat charter business with her partner Jeff.
When Karen is not at work, she and Jeff enjoy being out on their boat fishing and spending time with their three dogs: two black Labs named Bristol and Booger, and a Shih Tzu named Bo.
"I have been lucky to enjoy what I do for the past 25+ years. I have worked in numerous hospitals over the years, but now find myself here at VCA Delmarva enjoying going back to my roots of patient care and client education. The doctors and staff here at VCA Delmarva have an exceptional level of expectation of patient care which inspires me to be a better pet nurse and advocate of the pet companion."
