Dr. Susan McConnell has called the Lynchburg area home for over 30 years. She began practicing veterinary medicine in Madison Heights in 1987, but has been with VCA Boonsboro (originally Boonsboro Animal Hospital)since 2004. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and considers kitty head butts and wet dogs kisses major on–the-job perks. When she is not at work she enjoys time with her husband, Mike, their two daughters, and the animal friends that share their home. Fostering bottle fed kittens for the local humane society, and scuba diving are two of her favorite extracurricular activities.
Why I "do veterinary medicine"
It allows me to combine my love of science and medicine, my joy in nurturing living creatures, and my belief that caring for pets also cares for their owners so that I am truly serving people, into a career that is endlessly interesting and challenging. What could be better than that – using my hands, heart and head to care for animals and serve people!
