Local Medical Issues

There are numerous medical issues that can impact your pet's health, and that require your attention over the entire year. For example, there's heartworm, which can affect both cats and dogs. Since it's transmitted by mosquitoes, which thrive in our region, it's a serious cause for concern. Since the winter temperatures do not get cold enough here to kill mosquito eggs, it's a year-round risk.

Likewise for the potential for flea and tick infestation, or intestinal parasites each of which poses a problem in any season.

And finally, contrary to what you'd expect, allergies are a year-round issue. Many pets suffer from skin and ear allergies, the signs include scratching, redness in the ears and scaly skin.

At VCA Boca Greens, we do not limit care just to cats and dogs, we specialize in exotics, pocket pets, potbelly pigs, hamsters, snakes, iguanas, bearded dragons, and much more! The caliber of our doctors are simply the best. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, such as laser, digital x-ray, in-house lab for emergency and stat results, endoscopy, and more. A must-see is our successful weight-loss program for overweight and obese dogs that is second to none. This will add years to your pet's life and reduce future medical conditions.

Our boarding facility is filled with fun and great memories for your pet's vacation. Visit our friendly professional groomers on staff. They are the best in the county! The groom includes the nail trim, cleaning of the ears, expression of the anal sack as well as the experience of a massage and our Hydrosurge system. We have a convenient drive-thru service to expedite your visit with us. We welcome aggressive pets as our highly trained staff will embrace them. Our practice offers house calls for euthanasia, annual vaccines and we will even come pick you up bring you back home with your pet, if you require transportation. We offer routine, as well as advanced, surgery. Allow us to be your other "family doctor".
