VCA Bellevue Veterinary Hospital has been a staple in the Wilburton neighborhood of Bellevue for many years. As a premier Bellevue Veterinary Hospital, we also proudly serve four legged companions from Redmond, Kirkland, Mercer Island and Factoria. We are dedicated to preventing and slowing disease progression utilizing the most current techniques and protocols available. Everyone on our veterinary team believes that the better we get to know your pets, the better we can provide the best possible health care. In fact, when you come in, you'll see exactly why our VCA Bellevue team is praised for our kind and thorough care. Our medical team is committed to providing you and your furry friend the level of care that will help maintain the utmost quality of life from infancy all the way to the geriatric years. Our goal is to help your pet be a happy and healthy member of your family for as long as possible.
VCA Bellevue is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Only the top 15% of veterinary practices belong to this group. Because of this we are held to the highest standard of veterinary excellence and must pass a detailed inspection to keep this accreditation. What this means for your pet is that we practice the best possible medicine to give them the best care available. At VCA Bellevue Veterinary Hospital, we have Positive Cattitude about our feline patients and strive to provide them with the specialized care they need. It's because of these extra efforts that we maintain membership of the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Local Medical Issues
Because of where we live and play there are many medical issues that can impact your pet's health. Heartworm diease, which can affect both cats and dogs is becoming an increasing threat in western Washington. Heartworms are exactly that, worms that multiply in your pet's heart. They are transmitted by mosquitoes, which thrive in our region. Since the winter temperatures do not get cold enough here to kill mosquito eggs, this poses a year-round risk for our pets. The same is said for fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites. This is why we recommend your pet receive monthy parasite prevention all year round. Contrary to what you'd expect, allergies are also a year-round issue in this climate and many pets suffer from them. The signs of which include scratching, redness in the ears, "scaly" skin and runny eyes. If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms they should be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine the best course of treatment.
We harness the scale and strength of our global network while acknowledging each individual's contribution. We work locally to improve the lives of all who interact with our brand.
