Dr. Cargile was born in Midland Texas. Her family traveled extensively overseas and she grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and Medan, Indonesia. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987, and completed a large animal internship and residency. She was awarded a Ph.D. in veterinary immunology and board certification in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. After working as a large animal practitioner in Florida and Missouri, she transitioned to small animal practice where she worked as an associate veterinarian and a practice owner. She has more than 20 years of experience in small animal practice, with a focus on medicine and ultrasound.
She has taught and mentored veterinarians and technicians. She also served on a variety of committees and organized local talks and community outreach. Dr. Cargile lives in Cherry Log, GA and enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with her three dogs: Sunny, a golden retriever, KC a King Charles Cavalier, and Lady, a Miniature Pinscher. She also belongs to two cats, Morgan and Will Feral, and three hens, Emmylou, Patsy, and Loretta. Dr. Cargile is fear free certified and is passionate about treating pets like family members.
