Dr. Elizabeth Stewart is a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
She was born and raised in the Phoenix area and attended The College of William and Mary in Virginia where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. Following college she spent several years at the University of California, Irvine doing spinal cord injury research for the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation prior to attending veterinary school at U.C. Davis. She then returned to Arizona and VCA ARECA for her yearlong small animal rotating internship where she met her now husband, Dr. Mathew Stewart. Following her rotating internship, she completed a small animal surgery internship at Louisiana State University and a three-year residency in small animal surgery at The Ohio State University where she also received her Master's Degree. In 2019 she returned home to Arizona and began working at VCA ARECA as a Surgeon.
Dr. Stewart is passionate about patient care and enjoys both soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery.
During her free time she enjoys spending time with her growing family, gardening, reading, hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
