As far as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a "Dog Doctor". I would place generic bandages on my dogs for no reason at all. My dad is a retired Marine, so in high school, I joined ROTC because I, too, wanted to become a Marine and take advantage of the G.I. Bill to help me achieve a career as a veterinarian. Life happened, and I was not able to fulfill my goals. Instead, I enrolled in Pima Medical Institute and received my certificate as a Veterinary Assistant. Not quite a veterinarian, but pretty darn close. During my externship at what was then just Southside Animal Hospital, I was hired on full time. This was in May 1992. Seven years into my career, I was offered the position of Hospital Manager and have been holding this position since. I am currently in college earning the credit hours needed to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manger, holding a 4.0 GPA.
When I'm not at my practice or hitting the books, I enjoy spending my free time up North in God's county (Heber-Overgaard) in the cool weather with my parents. I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, and swimming and I LOVE the DALLAS COWBOYS!! I have two adult children who have blessed me with four grandbabies. I grew up here, became a mother here, became a grandmother here! VCA Southside Animal Hospital has given me the life I've always dreamed of, and I've enjoyed every minute, of every day for the last 30+ years.
