Special Interest/Expertise:
To name a few, I enjoy thoracic radiography for pulmonary disease assessment, ultrasonography of the acute abdomen, polytrauma CT, and CT angiography for the evaluation of portosystemic shunts.

I love radiology because it is one of the rare specialties that affords one the ability to have a role in the lives of virtually every patient in the entire hospital. My primary mission is to reduce clinical uncertainty for my clients and colleagues thru experience, transparency, and thoughtful communication.

Pets:
I have a big tuxedo cat named Shep. I rescued him from a shelter in Ewing, New Jersey when he was one year old. He is a big mush and the only one I can convince to sit and watch birds with me all day. 

My "heart dog", who is sadly no longer with me, was Charlie Bucket. The most giving little Cairn terrier who carried me thru nearly all of my veterinary education. One day I'll be ready for my next dog.

Personal Facts:
I grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and although I always knew that I wanted to become a veterinarian, I majored in English literature in college due to a love of writing, reading, and Irish poetry in particular. For this reason, I spent a very memorable 5 months in Northern Ireland, delivering calves with a bachelor dairy vet and then "following" Yeats around the country, writing and living in the back of a pub.
