Dr. Shaylan Meyer grew up on Long Island and completed her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and subsequently traded her flip flops for snow boots to finish her clinical instruction at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Meyer moved back home to complete her rotating internship at VCA VREC of Westbury after graduating from veterinary school. Most recently, she moved to Connecticut from Massachusetts after completing her residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Tufts University.
Dr. Meyer's professional interests include blood transfusion medicine, fluid stewardship, respiratory emergencies, and emergency procedures.
Outside of work, Dr. Meyer enjoys reading, going to the beach, anxiously awaiting the next Yankees World Series win, and armchair quarterbacking the Dallas Cowboys. She lives with her husband, Michael; coconut retriever, Quinn; and cats, Josie and Seymour.
