Dawn McManus has worked as a technician as a member of the VCA family for 17 years. She began her career in 1997 at the Animal Hospital of Staten Island, working with Dr. Ruderman and learning all about the medical care of pocket pets, birds, and other exotic pets. She also was exposed to veterinary acupuncture and holistic medicine there. In 2008, Dawn join the Rosebank Animal Hospital family and really enjoys working with her colleagues, clients and their pets. She has decided to continue her education, pursuing an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician Associate Degree at Penn Foster College to become a licensed veterinary technician.
When Dawn is not at work or studying, she is a full-time Mom to 8-year-old daughter Madelyn. Like her mom and dad, Madelyn loves animals. She hopes to work with them when she grows up. Dawn's rescued pet family includes her cat Marshmello; two bearded dragons, Chewya and Sally; her bunny Blackberry Benjamin; terrier mix Prince and a hound puppy named Gus. Dawn and her family also foster homeless pets as well.
