Dr. Gifford has always felt a calling to help animals. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian before she could even pronounce the word. Born and raised in Kentucky, she earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!) before moving to Alabama where she graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine (War Eagle!). After marrying into military life, Dr. Gifford has had the privilege to practice across the United States. While each location was special and allowed her to meet amazing people and pets, she has fallen in love with Maryland and the diversity of the D.C. metropolitan area. Dr. Gifford has been with the practice since September 2020. Her professional interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and preventative care.
Outside of work, Dr. Gifford lives with her husband and their pets, Ivy (pictured) and Sonny (golden retrievers) and Jaspurr (Siamese). She enjoys SEC sports, hiking, kayaking, and has recently started scuba diving.
"I always knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. Science and medicine always intrigued me, so combining those interests with my passion for animals and people made this profession a clear choice. It's always an exciting field as no two days in practice are exactly the same."
