Hospital Manager
Nicole started her path in vet medicine with a degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta. Driven by a desire to be hands-on and her family’s history in the nursing profession a career counsellor advised her to check out a program being offered at Fairview college called Animal Health Technology. It was a perfect fit and 20 years later she is still in love with the industry.
Nicole’s previous role as a lifeguard made her a natural for emergency medicine and upon graduation she moved to the lower mainland to work at the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley. Nicole has helped pets and people in all situations and at all times of the day.
Along her career path through emergency and referral medicine Nicole was asked to help with supervision of newer staff. This is where she discovered a passion for mentoring, teaching, and managing other veterinary professionals.
Nicole not only provides guidance for those that she works with but she believes in helping out the colleges as well. She is a regular guest speaker at Douglas College, she supports Douglas College’s Vet Tech Co-Op program as well as ensuring any school has a place to send their practicum students.
Nicole spends her time away from the hospital involved in Judo, cheering on her kids in all their activities and watching super hero movies.
