Why I Do What I Do: "My name is Amy and my journey with veterinary medicine started in February 1988 when I became a technician for VCA Newark. I was born into a family of hard working agriculturists where passion and common sense go hand in hand. I was a member of 4-H from the age of 9 to 18, my two focuses had always been dairy cattle and also photography, which I still do on a part time basis. My family farm is still functioning and whenever I can, I take time to enjoy all of the memories. My drive for this career was driven by my family and it has guided me through 30+ years in this profession. I have two children, Kaitlyn and Jacob, and they have inspired me to be not only the best mother for them but the best at what I do. When I'm not at work, I love to spend time with my now grown children and my grand-dogs, Shasta and Nala. My new husband, Dan, and I love to spend time together along with our extremely handsome tabby cat, Tyler William. I am now VCA Newark's Inventory Manager which is a change of pace, but with my expertise in organization I am eager about what my future holds within this company."
