Dr. Marian Ansems joined VCA as an associate doctor in 2000. She became the Medical Director in 2002 and continues to treat patients full-time. Born and raised on a farm in Nova Scotia, Canada, Dr. Ansems obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She knows that by great service and education we have the best chance possible to allow our beloved pets to live longer healthier, and happier lives. She enjoys taking the time to get to know each client and pet. Dr. Ansems' veterinary interests include dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, and senior care of dogs and cats. She also enjoys working with birds, reptiles, and small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc). Dr. Ansems completed some additional training in exotic pet medicine and surgery in Boston at the well-known Angel Memorial Hospital and also at the Veterinary School of Louisiana State University.
