Dr. Vanessa is a 2013 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. After earning her Masters of Science in 2009 and her Bachelor of Biological Science in 2008, she joined Lakeshore Animal Hospital in May 2013. Dr. Vanessa was originally employed at Lakeshore for three years while studying for her undergraduate degrees and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Vanessa finished her Honours Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph in 2008 followed by her Masters of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Guelph in 2009 and finally completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. Dr. Vanessa is very interested in feline medicine; surgery and dermatology are among some of her other special interests. Dr. Vanessa led her clinic and team to become Cat Friendly certified and accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. She is certified in extensive training for Pain Management, Dentistry and Fear Free, which is an initiative striving to take the stress out of veterinary visits for our patients.

Dr. Vanessa is passionate about working with local and international communities. She has worked alongside VCA to provide vaccinations and diets to pets with limited access within the GTA. As well, Dr. Vanessa was awarded the opportunity to travel to India in 2019 with Mission Rabies and vaccinate over two thousand dogs. She looks forward to her next adventure with Mission Rabies once international travel has been restored.
