Dr. Kyle Reijm (pronounced like the word "rhyme") grew up in an agriculture community on a cattle and hay farm in northwestern Washington. His first pet (after a few cows he had named) was a cocker spaniel named Charlie. Charlie was diagnosed with diabetes when Dr. Reijm was in 3rd grade. His parents allowed Dr. Reijm to manage Charlie's diabetes with twice daily insulin injections. His disease was managed for around three years before passing at age 12. Charlie was a very special dog, and Dr. Reijm remembers how grateful he was to the veterinarian for helping his family take care of him. From then on, Dr. Reijm wanted to be able to help other people take care of their special pets.
Dr. Reijm and his fiancé (also a veterinarian) currently live in Coeur d'Alene and have two dogs named Kobe and Penny, and one cat named Pumpkin. They love the area for the endless opportunities to play outdoors. If they are not working, they are likely hiking, fishing, or camping.
