Dr. Alyson Keir first became interested in a career as a veterinarian when she was given a copy of All Creatures Great and Small in middle school. While we know the modern world of veterinary medicine is very different from 1940s Yorkshire, her passion for helping animals has remained the same.
Dr. Keir graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 with a goal of becoming a small animal general practitioner. Within a year of graduating, she found herself working relief shifts at the local emergency clinic and fell in love with the fast pace and constant variety of emergency medicine. Since then, her career has been focused on both emergency and feline medicine. When Dr. Keir isn't working, she enjoys snuggling with her five kitties (Moggy, Toph, Aaron, Jacquelyn and Kushina), crocheting, painting water color and caring for the community cats in her neighborhood.
