Dr. Saponas was born and raised in Colorado. She earned her BS in Zoology with an Animal Science minor from Oregon State University. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Univerisity of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school Dr. Saponas decided humidity did not agree with her and moved west to Las Vegas. She joined VCA Hualapai Animal Hospital in June of 2005.

In her spare time, Dr. Saponas is typically with her four-legged kids: Gremlin and Jynx, two Domestic Shorthair cats, Raja a Rottweiler, Jacie, an Australian Shepherd. She has recently discovered the exciting sport of agility with Raja and Jacie. When not training with her dogs, she can usually be found with a good book or messing around on her computers. She also enjoys hiking and camping when the weather permits.
