Dr. Phyllis C. Glawe is a board-certified veterinary oncologist with more than 30 years experience treating pets diagnosed with cancer. Originally from Maryland, she received her DVM from The Ohio State University in 1989. Following completion of a small animal internship at North Carolina State University, she entered into the medical oncology residency program at Colorado State University. She completed her residency and requirements for board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Specialty of Oncology in 1993. As clinical veterinary oncologist, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of cancer problems in dogs and cats. She accepted a position as an oncologist in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1993 and worked there until 2000. For the past 23 years of her career, she has practiced in the Denver area. Dr. Glawe joined the VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital community in 2010. Dr. Glawe enjoys life in Colorado with her husband, Chris, and two sons, John and Thomas. Family members with fur include 2 cats, Baba and Carl. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, fishing, skiing and reading. One of her favorite pastimes is enjoying hiking in the beautiful Flat Tops Wilderness area, observing the wonderful flora and fauna here in the Centennial State.
