Carlos has been a veterinary assistant since 1995. He started as a kennel assistant and quickly advanced to assisting the veterinarian with exams and surgery. While attending UTHSC, Carlos utilized skills as an EMT student to advance his knowledge and talents as a veterinary assistant. Since making the switch to helping animals full-time, he has found his career to be very rewarding. Carlos is passionate and enjoys teaching and showing the next generation of assistants in the field the tricks of the profession, which has developed into a passion. As the veterinary assistant supervisor at VCA Castle Hills Companion Animal Hospital, Carlos feels rewarded knowing that he is making a difference in our community by providing for and meeting the needs of his patients. When Carlos is not working, he spends time with his family and loves to go saltwater fishing.
