Hi! My name is Kelin Burton, and I graduated from the Algonquin College Veterinary Technician program in the summer of 2021. I was able to do both of my school placements at Bells Corners and I was hired on as a technician after I graduated. I had the opportunity to work in several wildlife rehabilitation facilities as a teenager, which really enforced my love of animals and my desire to help them thrive. The best part of my job is interacting with our clients and patients during appointments, helping out with surgeries, and taking blood. I would happily express anal glands or wrangle a 40kg snapping turtle rather than touch a frog.
When I’m not working, I enjoy hanging out with my cats (Aura and Ollie), watching Supernatural, and reading fantasy books. I wouldn’t say no to a LOTR extended edition movie marathon either.
