Dr. Christie Carlo is an associate veterinarian graduating from Iowa State University in 1996. She joined Avondale in 2009 and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) in 2010. Dr. Carlo sees dogs and cats in all facets of veterinary medicine including routine wellness exams and vaccinations to cases of illness but concentrates practice on lameness, orthopedic injuries, rehabilitation physical medicine and soft tissue surgeries. Dr. Carlo became a partner with Orthopets, Orthopets Iowa, in 2016 working with patients that need support with orthotics and prosthetics. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional, able to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. In 2023, Dr. Carlo proudly earned her certification in chiropractic care from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Carlo enjoys quilting, reading, hiking, and camping.  She and her husband, Tim, have two children, John and Emily, and pets Murphy the cat, Morgan the lab, and Rocket the chihuahua.
