Dr. Rando is originally from New York, where she received her undergraduate degree from the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY. She then attended Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, earning a DVM degree in 2012. Dr. Rando grew up working with horses, and throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies, she was a self-employed farrier in Long Island, New York. After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Rando participated in an internship at South Shore Equine Clinic in Plympton, Massachussetts. In 2013, Dr. Rando made a transition into small animal medicine private practice in Northeastern Connecticut.
Dr. Rando knows what an important part of the family companion animals are. As a result, she is a strong advocate of preventative veterinary care and places an emphasis on the early diagnosis of medical issues. Her professional interests include alternative medicine, dentistry, internal medicine, nutrition and hospice care. When she is not working, Dr. Rando partakes in many activities, including ice hockey, water sports, fishing, horseback riding, cycling, running, traveling, cooking, gardening, music, dancing, and spoiling her two cats.
