Dr. Fischer grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and has a passion for improving the quality of life of animals and their owners, throughout their lifetime. Dr. Fischer has lived with dogs and birds (and many other rescued critters) throughout her life and shows Morgan horses at competitions throughout the United States.
Dr. Fischer earned a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University in 2005 and a D.V.M. from the Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, where she was the second youngest member of her graduating class. In 2009 Dr. Fischer began practicing veterinary medicine at an active small animal practice in Denver and remained with that practice until she joined VCA Animal Clinic of Parker in February 2021. She chose to join VCA of Parker because of the high quality of medicine, and the time and attention given to each pet and its owner.
Dr. Fischer is always searching for new and improved methodologies and techniques that will enhance the quality of life of her patients. With that in mind, Dr. Fischer studied for and was awarded a certificate in acupuncture (for both small animals and large animals) by Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Fischer loves working with dogs and cats of all ages, stages of health and personalities as well as their human chauffeurs. Dr Fischer's approach to treating a patient involves considering each client-pet pair as an individual unit when tailoring a workable plan for diagnosis and treatments. In addition, Dr. Fischer has worked with the Canine Health Foundation as well as being an active member of the Morgan Horse Association.
Dr. Fischer lives in Parker with her two English Springer Spaniels, her Eclectus parrot, and her trail horses, as well as chickens and barn cats.
