Dr. Michelle Ku grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Science and was additionally trained at Vet Specialty Hospital during a rigorous small animal rotating internship. Dr. Ku has a special interest in internal medicine and community health. In her free time, she likes to cook and experiment with new recipes. She shares her home with her zookeeper husband, a sweet mutt named Kiki, and a menagerie of reptiles.
On the weekends, Dr. Ku runs a free clinic in Ocean Beach for pets belonging to people experiencing homelessness or near homelessness, serving San Diego's low income community. She is a passionate supporter of the human-animal bond, as well as its benefits towards people's mental health. Dr. Ku hopes to celebrate the human-animal connection by treating both the animals and their owners with care and dignity.
